US House Speaker Urges Epstein Case Transparency
His comments mark a shift on a topic that continues to stir debate within conservative circles.
During a discussion with conservative podcast host Benny Johnson, the Speaker stated, "I'm for transparency."
Acknowledging the sensitivity of the matter, he added, "It’s a very delicate subject, but we should put everything out there and let the people decide it."
Johnson’s appeal for openness aligns with growing calls from the public to gain clarity on Epstein’s connections and dealings.
A known supporter of Trump, Johnson also addressed recent controversy surrounding Attorney General Pam Bondi.
He said Bondi "needs to come forward and explain" her contradictory remarks regarding what is frequently referred to as the Epstein "client list." He emphasized his alignment with public demands for disclosure, stating, "I agree with the sentiment that we need to put it out there."
Johnson’s comments follow Bondi’s recent defense of the Trump administration’s choice to close the case.
She dismissed the existence of any list, contradicting her previous claim that the documents were physically "sitting on her desk."
This inconsistency has sparked confusion and criticism among Trump’s MAGA supporters.
However, despite advocating for transparency in public, Johnson joined his Republican colleagues in voting down a Democratic proposal that would have compelled the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release all documentation tied to Epstein.
This contradiction between his words and legislative action has added further complexity to his position on the matter.
