Turkish Stock Market Ends Lower

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s leading equity index closed the week at 10,642.60 points on Friday, reflecting a 0.43% decrease compared to the previous session.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index kicked off the day at 10,707.95 points and declined by 46.45 points from Thursday’s final tally.

During the trading session, the index touched a low of 10,622.91 and climbed to an intraday high of 10,722.97.

The total market capitalization of the BIST 100 stood at nearly 9.85 trillion Turkish liras (approximately $243.9 billion), while the daily transaction volume reached 83.2 billion Turkish liras (roughly $2.05 billion).

Out of all listed stocks on the index, 37 gained in value while 62 experienced a decline compared to the day before.

As of 6:20 p.m. local time (1520GMT), the price of gold stood at "$3,333.70 per ounce" and Brent crude oil was trading at "$68.05 per barrel."

Meanwhile, the foreign exchange rates were recorded as follows: the US dollar was valued at 40.5525 Turkish liras, the euro at 47.6195 Turkish liras, and the British pound was exchanged for 54.5115 Turkish liras.
