Zelenskyy Awaits US Decisions Regarding Patriot Systems
“We have proposed to the US the acquisition of the required number of systems. Also on the agenda is our proposal concerning drones,” Zelenskyy remarked during his evening address, highlighting that Ukraine’s drone capabilities are already proving their effectiveness.
“More than 2 billion dollars are already allocated to the program, with an additional one and a half billion announced. We are awaiting these funds and, consequently, deliveries. Much depends on our partners – good progress with Europe, and we expect decisions from the United States of America. In particular, regarding the Patriots – this is highly significant,” he added.
The Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, launched by the US and NATO, aims to accelerate the provision of weapons and equipment to Ukraine to bolster its defensive capabilities.
President Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine has presented “serious opportunities not only to invest in production within Ukraine” but also to create joint industrial complexes overseas.
“For the first time in history, Ukraine will achieve modern joint arms manufacturing with strong countries,” Zelenskyy concluded.
