Danish-Operated Vessel Leaves Strait of Hormuz Under US Army Escort

(MENAFN) According to reports, a commercial vessel linked to a Danish shipping and logistics company successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz under US military protection.

The company stated that the ship completed its passage through the strategic waterway and exited the Persian Gulf on May 4. It confirmed that the operation was carried out without any incidents and that all crew members remained safe and unharmed throughout the journey.

The vessel had reportedly remained in the Gulf for an extended period due to heightened security concerns following recent regional instability. Its departure was only made possible after a coordinated security arrangement was developed in cooperation with US military forces.

The company explained that both shore-based and onboard leadership approved the transit plan, which included escort support from US military assets during the exit from the Gulf.

The move comes amid ongoing tensions in the region following earlier military escalations that affected maritime security and led to disruptions in one of the world’s most critical shipping routes. Those events contributed to increased caution among commercial operators navigating the area.

A temporary ceasefire had previously been established through mediation efforts, though broader negotiations have struggled to produce a lasting agreement. The situation remains sensitive, with shipping companies continuing to rely on enhanced security measures when operating in the region.

Overall, the successful transit highlights continued risks in the area as well as the role of military coordination in ensuring the safety of commercial maritime traffic.
