Israeli Drone Attack Kills Palestinian, Wounds Another in Gaza
(MENAFN) A Palestinian man was killed and one other wounded Tuesday night after an Israeli drone launched a strike on a residential property in central Gaza, in what medical officials are describing as the latest breach of an ongoing ceasefire agreement in effect since last October.
Medical sources identified the deceased as Abdulrahman al-Shaafi, whose body was received at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah following the attack. According to those sources, an Israeli drone fired two missiles at the entrance of a home located east of the Nuseirat refugee camp.
A second victim was transported to Al-Awda Hospital for treatment. Medical sources did not disclose the extent of that individual's injuries.
Since the truce took hold on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli military operations — including airstrikes and live fire — have claimed the lives of approximately 856 Palestinians and left 2,463 others wounded, figures drawn from Gaza's Health Ministry.
The ceasefire was brokered following two consecutive years of warfare that Gaza's Health Ministry says killed more than 72,000 Palestinians and injured upward of 172,000 others. The conflict, which Israel launched on Oct. 8, 2023, also gutted roughly 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure before transitioning into its current, intermittent form.
